And it involves this miserable pile of async complexity: https://www.npmjs.com/package/push-buffer
(And that's already the nth revision I made of that package, turns out this is just a very annoying problem to find a reliable and sufficiently flexible solution for.)
At least the problem *probably* isn't with push-buffer itself this time, but rather with something using it, but I still have to read annoying push-buffer logs to work it out...
I have been trying to track down the same bug for the past 5 hours or so, and nothing has helped. I've implemented debugging tools, reduced the problem case, tried many variations to see what influences the behaviour, improved logging, even did a diff between full-blast "log absolutely everything" output to play spot the differences between the broken and working case...
And I *still* have no idea where it's breaking.
Businesses under capitalism are literally just dictatorships and nobody wants to talk about it
the bus I’m on still has a city of toronto “stay warm” PSA from the winter which I can’t stop staring at as I sweat absolute buckets from this heat wave #dlws
I'm repeating this call for support, anyone wants to stay up all night in a beautiful summer night chasing off Nazi cowards along with some fierce immigrants, go to Witten at any point, even at night
The amount of post-purchase survey emails I get is absurd. No, auto parts store, you don't need to know how my "store pickup experience" went for two boxes of drain plug washers. No, dentist, you don't need to harass me to make a Google review or whatnot every time I go.
Only one I gave a crap about was post-FWA because it provides useful feedback about the con to real people and volunteers.
Corps just use those surveys to justify "churn events". Aka, firing someone lest they feel safe.
When I was 10 years old, I was sent to another school for a “gifted” program and read several books about dystopian societies. I have a vivid memory of telling my teacher that I felt lucky I didn’t live in a dystopian society, and she told me that I actually do. I laughed but she very seriously said she was not joking and repeated that I’m in one and don’t realize it yet, just like some of the characters in the books.
Do you remember the first time you realized you were living in a dystopia (even if it was less explicit)?
@durian Nice 😄
At times like these, it is incredibly important to remember that the peoples, cultures and faiths of what we now call the Middle East have lived together in peace for centuries.
We are being fed a story of eternal irreconcilable hatreds to stop us from seeing what's really happening. That the violence we see today is rooted in 20th-21st century imperial exploitation.
Don't fall for the racist, Orientalist lies.
@kytta I wonder if their 'verification' process is literally just "look it up on other maps like OSM and see if it says the same thing" so that they can claim that Technically, It Was Contributed To Us

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
