@nico Like, I want to be very clear about this: I *do not care* if people manage to find nominally legitimate uses, and I have zero interest in arguing about exactly how legitimate they are.
It changes exactly nothing about how the technology was created, for what purpose, and how that has influenced its design choices and externalized effects. And *that* is the problem here.
@nico No, it does not remotely 'break my conclusion'. The technology was not created for VLC, and so it is irrelevant to my point.
Let me be very clear. I do not advocate for violence. I am a pacifist at heart, and I believe we will accomplish more through peaceful yet “loud and proud” advocacy along with class solidarity.
Regardless, Generative AI is tied at the hip to fascism (do the research if you don’t believe me), and it pains me to see pointless arguments over what constitutes “vibe coding” overshadow the reality that all genAI usage is anti-craft and anti-humanist and in fact represents an extreme position.

@nico The point here is about the attitude towards the category, rather than about any specific applications

Insufferable centrist: But maybe there's a middle ground, a "responsible" way to use ChatGPT—this is definitely a serious intellectual position to hold and not just a complete spineless cop-out

@Larymir@chaos.social Assuming you're in Germany, Lidl has an online shop there too I believe, and I've had pretty good experiences with their cotton sheets overall (and the online shop usually has a pretty big back catalog of options and colors, unlike the stores).
The absolute cheapest ones are the half-transparent ones and I would avoid those, but the slightly fancier ones (eg. the 'satin feel' type ones) are usually of much higher quality, and most of them are still 100% cotton.
Like this one from the NL shop for example, I would expect that to be a nice one: https://www.lidl.nl/p/livarno-home-satijnen-hoeslaken-180-200-x-200-cm/p100388390 (and I *think* it is in fact the same one as my favourite sheets)

@byte I've been quite happy with Sickgear but it only does TV (it does use a web UI for controlling it), for other stuff I usually just use the qBittorrent web UI with its search feature
polycule household management
We've now instituted a policy of doing a 'stock check' once a week on a fixed day, 1.5 days before the online groceries order deadline, and it's really helped a lot to make sure that we don't unexpectedly run out of stuff!
Literally just a list of "thing, minimum we should have, maximum we should buy up to, where to buy it", and then printing the whole list and going through it marking how much we have of each. What we can (plausibly/affordably) order online, we do; the rest we get from the store in person.

Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
