🥽the want social darwinism, but what do they want to “evolve” from it? Bosses don’t hire and fire people logically. Yes of course, they fire women, racial minorities and queer people first… but it’s all based on vibes and on performance metrics that make no sense and change constantly and in a whim.

So… what is all the suffering for?

The signal chat opens the door to these questions. For a maga person, who rants about traditional family values but has lost their family, who is talking about Biden as a fascist dictator while defending Nazi salutes online, who is speculating about QAnon while verufued sex traffickers are put in charge of running the country…

Who say we should care about America first and put the “right people” in charge while the administration leaks a war plan to “bail out Europe” to the press, while social security is openly threatened, while the nation-state they say they want to protect is dismantled before their eyes.

what has all of it been for?

🥽it is an easier idea to accept that people who are hurting you are doing it for a good reason. It lends meaning to the suffering. It is easier to cope with the thought that resisting fascism means fighting against a shadowy conspiracy that is hurting you specifically because you are in some way important from their perspective. It is a self-humanizing thought. It reclaims the suffering.

But what if it is exactly as senseless as it seems? I can convey to you the logic of why the capitalists find transgender people in particular threatening “we challenge their control over reproduction”, but that begs the question “what do they want to control our reproduction for?”

And the answer is… banal. “They want the people they see to look a certain way and act a certain way because that makes them feel good” they want white skin because they want white skin and the rest is all a rationalization of why they like it when they don’t have to see other kinds of skin.

🥽if the capitalists accomplished all of project 2025, then what? They will continue to seek new large scale social engineering projects to amuse themselves with.

But like the Saudi government’s fanciful mega-engineering projects, while these attempts may inadvertently yield socially useful science, the aims of the projects are nihilistic and irrational.

It’s just people with too much money who’ve run out of sexy things to do with it.

There are plenty of great things to use the money for, but feeding people or stopping climate change aren’t as “sexy” as making everybody live in a line.

And so we arrive at the current moment, where Musk and his billionaire clique are essentially overthrowing the U.S. government as a form of entertainment. A way to make the line go up for the sake of making it go up. A way to *feel* things.

This reality is obfuscated by the terrifying and confusing actions of the administration. Scary things and unknown things look more capable than they are.

🥽I have spent two months analyzing the actions of this administration, and here is my conclusion:

There is no grand strategy

They certainly are making plans to do specific things, like strangle the Chinese economy or unperson transgender people

But to what end? It’s a list of unrelated, short-term policy objectives that do not work together to accomplish any outcome besides giving a group of very powerful people something to do. Reshaping society to a form they like so that they can enjoy the aesthetics of living in that society

Chasing superficial dreams like making skin tones in the US lighter via selective breeding while also increasing the birth rate while also stealing resources from those children that would help them survive while also making those children hate them by curtailing their civil rights

These ideas don’t work together. So the point isn’t for the capitalists to make a society that works or is sustainable but to make a society that makes them feel things
