@mynameistillian Honestly, with that kind of argument, I would suspect that they understand *exactly* what it is like, and they are completely fine with poor folks having that experience.
It reminds me of the whole "cruelty is the point" thing.

The spanish paper and online portal EL PAÍS just published a revealing investigation. They endowed used but still good clothes with hidden geolocation tags and deposited the clothes in 15 used clothes bins across Spain. Then they tracked the journeys of the different pieces. It's a long and abysmal story.

to root your device you need the boot.img, the contents of the boot partition on your phone. to get that, you need to buy hardware from somewhere, download a cracked version of a tool with a virus, or find a possibly-incorrect firmware from a mega link on a dusty thread

@maeve FYI, that site is a spammy SEO farm as far as I know, with seemingly machine-generated articles, and I don't think that any source actually corroborates the claims there about free filing (only the part about the 18F shutdown, but it's still unclear what the exact consequences of that are)

When I see a bird outside my back door just waiting around, if I have its favorite food I open the door and throw some outside.
