we have a reasonable dataset browser... upload process is working... feed generation is working... just need a little more moderation tooling and we are good to start indexing the dispersed dataset purge scrapes. fuck a digital book burning we've got the power of bittorrent and anime on our side.

A friend likes holes in her jeans, but this pair had one too close to the seam that tore out further. She hunted online until she found the perfect patch for the situation, and I got them fixed up this morning.
As usual for repairing jeans, I put denim patching on the inside and stitched it in place, then added the decorative patch.

any ideas on repurposing vcrs ? im gonna try get one working as iv got a tape that i want to digitalize, its music artist interviews and i could only find half of them on the internet. my parents still hav a working one (i think) but it would b neat to hav one myself
not sure what to do with the others so any ideas appreciated. planning to salvage anything useful or interesting. i like the head drums lol
@markstos By this point it is clear to me that you are looking to justify your current position, rather than learning about a different one, so I am stepping out of this conversation.
There is not enough time in my day to be arguing with someone who only asks questions and then does nothing with the answers.

If Bluesky is performing in a public square, Mastodon is choosing a queer clubhouse filled with queers and partying so loud that the cishets in the street outside occasionally overhear and get all touristy and interested

- It allows for people to contribute a solution *eventually*
- It serves as a reference for people newly running into the same bug, especially if workarounds are suggested
- It doesn't communicate "I don't care about your work" (assuming you've communicated expectations correctly)
- It provides more reliable statistics on how well things are going in terms of reliability/support/etc., both to you and to potential contributors
- Closing it will just cause a new bug to be created once the next person runs across it anyways so it doesn't even meaningfully reduce your bugs anyway
Are those sufficient reasons? I'm sure there'll be a couple more reasons not to fudge the data if one thinks about it for a bit
