My employer is currently looking for a senior dev doing really complex stuff in and on C++ code. This is in Ottawa (Canada) and not remote.
The product is a niche dev tool. It's not a compiler, but it's that kind of problem space.
If you're interested, please DM me and I'll provide more details. I'm being vague because I don't want to link my work and personal online presences.
FWIW, I genuinely like my co-workers and enjoy this kind of work.
Boosts are okay.
@ifixcoinops (Recommendations on how to fix it Properly, with the understanding that the things available in hardware stores do not match at all what is available in eg. the US, are very welcome! That's where most of the spoons cost goes, figuring that out)
@ifixcoinops Unfortunately repairing it Properly has a spoons cost, so I have patched it up for now with the knowledge that it needs a proper fix soon
Can someone recommend me some hard or semi-hard transhumanist #scifi (preferably prose or webcomic form) that does *not* have a faux-rationalist eugenicsy vibe to it and has a more laid-back and creative attitude regarding posthuman enhancements and so on, while also *not* having a technophobic, conservative attitude that treats the human body and mind as something sacred and untouchable like a lot of sci-fi that touches on these topics?
hospitals
Neither the times nor quantities are accurate but it seems to have been approximated closely enough by this point that nursing staff can work with it and provide medication at the correct times in the correct quantities
hospitals
Once again finding that hospital IT systems are completely incapable of dealing with medication that is taken on sleep-relative time, not clock time - my medication file at this hospital looks like a battleground by this point, of different hospital staff trying to implement their own IT-system-compatible approximations of what I've told them
@eniko forever thinking about "lol gravé" because this of course is *exactly* how language evolves
@matt @slightlyoff @nolan I've long noticed a pattern with "well-resourced pseudo-underdogs" where the claimed team size and capabilities seem to change overnight depending on which size better suits the argument they're trying to make or the image they're trying to project.
Big team when they're trying to claim they are more competent than community initiatives, then suddenly it's a small team when accountability comes looking. npm (at least pre-acquisition) constantly pulled the same trick, for example.
@GLaDTheresCake Same! The ride accessibility update to Droomvlucht (which seems like it may have been a prototype for the Danse Macabre approach?) is promising for that, at least
@joepie91 cost and lack of knowledge, but it is really cool that it's a part of this. I hope they update the full park with this.
Oh wow, and apparently the 'pictures' on that object are actually screens which start moving every once in a while, and tell the story in sign language

- No alt text (request) = no boost.
- Boosts OK for all boostable posts.
- DMs are open.
- Flirting welcome, but be explicit if you want something out of it!
- The devil doesn't need an advocate; no combative arguing in my mentions.
Sometimes horny on main (behind CW), very much into kink (bondage, freeuse, CNC, and other stuff), and believe it or not, very much a submissive bottom :p
My spoons are limited, so I may not always have the energy to respond to messages.
Strong views about abolishing oppression, hierarchy, agency, and self-governance - but I also trust people by default and give them room to grow, unless they give me reason not to. That all also applies to technology and how it's built.
