@neil Though I should note that I'm not certain that there don't *exist* other funding methods for the EU, I have just heard claims from quite a few people dealing with EU stuff that this is the easiest way to get it through bureaucracy, so it's possible that it's more convenience than regulatory requirement

@neil (And yes this is a fucking awful model for funding the commons, but you can thank the neoliberals for that)

@neil I'm guessing this is an attempt at integrating it within the EU's weird funding structures where everything must be a public tender to be funded, and therefore creating a project is bureaucratically easier than trying to essentially take over an existing one.

I think this is also part of the reason that eg. FOSS funding was outsourced through organizations like NLNet?

NLmedia NLpol somewhat positive

@smveerman Tot mijn verbazing is het niet eens weggestopt in de 'columns'-rubriek, zoals meestal gebeurt.

Doesn't mean that there are never problems or conflicts of course, but it does mean that we have the tools to deal with them in a constructive manner - like a 'voting sheet' of sorts for what's for dinner, and a sheet to claim and track chores being done, as well as constructive house meetings when issues need to be discussed

Just realized today that I have, sort of accidentally, achieved the dream of "living in a peaceful indescribable polycule of queer neurospicy folks"... and I didn't really notice until now

Every once in a while I see an old Linux screenshot and go "oh yeah, Linux DEs used to be *uglier* than Windows" lmao

Today I learned that there is a theme park in the US specifically tailored towards disabled folks: youtube.com/watch?v=27pkOKYBpt

@clacksee@wandering.shop (Which often do keyword matching)

@clacksee@wandering.shop Perhaps it's an attempt to get past the automated review filters that a lot of places use now?
