@183231bcb@transfem.social Belated note: it can connect as either a DirectPlay (old-style) or xinput (new, XBox-style) controller, using the connection toggle switch. So that should make it work with pretty much everything.

@183231bcb@transfem.social I ended up getting a GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro controller, and I've been quite happy with it:
- Feels very pleasant and high-quality
- Can be used either wired or wireless
- Works out of the box on pretty much everything, including consoles and Linux
- Has drift-free analog sticks with a *very* tiny (and configurable) deadzone
- All configuration (optional) is done through special key combinations, not in drivers, this includes a key swap for action buttons (for switching to mapping conventions of different consoles)
The one I bought did arrive with a sticky switch; I asked them to send me a replacement switch (wanted to replace it myself) and they sent me a 4-pack. I assume they also do normal repairs. The one major downside is the price.

took the elastomeric respirator out for its first spin today getting some groceries, and funnily enough, received no weird stares or comments despite it being more noticeable than auras are

i wish people would be more conscious about the proprietary nature of podcasts offered by apple and spotify. it's like f*cking google who stole email & xmpp from the open web. apple and spotify are stealing podcasts as rss feeds from the open web.

I’ve finished Deviations now but I wanted this to be my last quote in particular because of the mention of Hirschfeld. The Nazis shut his institute and burned his research but what he’d already published stayed out there for later generations of queer people to find and to build on. It’s easy to focus on loss - repression, censorship, the loss of communities - but it’s never total. And so the voices get passed down, for us to add our own and pass them on in turn
