With all the noise about #Tumblr adding #ActivityPub support, please remember that the biggest EEE threat usually comes from the companies that look nice.
(And also #Automattic has a history of extortionate billing schemes for redirects when you moved your blog)

There are four genders of grievances with mastodon:
-"the app is shit" (uses the official app)
-"it's not twitter, make it more like twitter!"
-some complete nonsense based on a complete misunderstanding of how it works
-legitimate grievances that older users have been suggesting for years
