Ableism, Neurodivergence

From a partner's CBT and ADHD workbook:

"Regarding the long-range management of ADHD, it is important to point out that the relapse rate for ADHD is 100%. "

What in the neurotypical ableist nonsense framing is this?!?

re: Quick explainer about GoToSocial for people who've heard of it but aren't sure what it is

@dumpsterqueer Is this the new "please stop building your critical infrastructure on my alpha software" anti-marketing strategy?

Don’t look for heroes.

Look for people who build community by making space for people to care for each other and raise one another up.

@selfawaresoup@chaos.social I'd imagine there will be quite a few folks like that on scholar.social?

Protip if you have ADHD: If you break a task down into steps, and create a deadline for each step, then you get to feel even more stress as you watch more deadlines sail past you.

Finally decided to give Mastodon a go. Here are some samples of my work and where to find me!

re: fedi meta

@enron @hugh This just made me realize how *weird* it is that "downtime" is considered a bad thing when used in the IT sense, but a good thing when used in the social sense

Little PSA:

A huge chunk of the fediverse came here because they were harassed, literally and aggressively, off birdsite. Understandably, they don't want to be inundated with reminders of the things they went through there.

I know it's big news right now, but please, if you're talking about that place, consider using a content warning <3

Thank you.

@arctic @rek2 I mean, the web itself is *also* federated, at least from a technical perspective

To be honest and maybe I forgot but since I started to use the Internet/Fidonet around 1988, I never seen a migration so big from a CORPORATE service to a community decentralized service in so many numbers, I seen the opossite but never from evil to good, tends to be from good to evil (centralized, closed source Internet) so I guess now I seen it all this gives me some hope all the new people will learn about other things also ethical in the fediverse, like #Matrix and #PixelFed even #Gemini

The secret recipe for a good toot is to mix equal parts earnest post and joke post.

Now these can be stirred together and strained over a nice image, or shaken and served up in a martini glass.

Every now and then tho, I like to pour them in separately over a bartender’s spoon and create a nice layered effect.

@aethylred Fair. I guess that if enough people genuinely consider it important, it would spread by boosts anyway.

This is one of the few spaces on the internet where we can actively shape the experience ourselves. Where we aren't beholden to the whims of a company that will throw us under the bus for a quick buck.

To me, the fediverse is about having a community of people collectively maintaining this public space where they can freely share their thoughts, passions, and problems. Where they can support each other and keep each other safe with community power.
