Standard procedure for kids that can't deal with school: referral to child psychiatry, neuropsychiatric assessment, neuropsychiatric diagnosis and medication.
Procedures almost never seen: (1) an attempt to understand the kid and adapt the environment to make things work, (2) holistic perspective involving the kid's entire world, not only school.
This is what #medicalisation looks like.

The internet having become a Space For Ads bothers me beyond words. Not only are we being bombarded with increasingly more desperate and manipulative drivel intended to get one to consume seventy flavors of the same worthless crap, the fact that ad companies have such say in what gets put on platforms to the point of censoring or removing completely normal and/or important words from our lexicon in the places they're most likely to be seen by people who need access to those words.
@clacke I think that "incorrecting" would be a better translation in this case?

@Comrade_Tomato @ExperimentV Mmmm. I've had quite a few cases now where it's taken me weeks to years to track down a copy of something more obscure (or just old) on piracy platforms. Availability is a real issue, and it's definitely not a substitute for proper archival.

May not happen soon, but the possibility exists that Netflix can just shut down, and all of the media they've produced will be lost.
It'd be a good idea to pirate/download your favorite series/movies from Netflix since they haven't made any physical copies.

@riley@toot.site It's often surprising to people that this is how `else if` works in JS as well; though the *reason* for that (brace-less conditional syntax) isn't great, as it's a frequent cause of bugs in JS when used with things *other than* chained `if` statements...

Tea tip: lavender turns out to be *very* suitable for making tea, it's caffeine-free, and unlike most 'infusions' or 'herbal teas' you can make it quite strong and it isn't sweet!

@vantablack If you're doing omelettes, another interesting trick is to put a lid on the pan after the first minute or so and cook it at a very low heat; magical fluffy omelettes!
