re: online dating
@rune I usually convey this by saying something like "it's okay if you need some time to think about it" or "it's okay if you have a lot on your mind and need some time to respond" - there may be a hundred reasons why someone is slow to respond but mentioning *any* often-considered-unacceptable reason (even if it's not theirs) as being explicitly acceptable does, in my experience, communicate the broader point that you're not judgmental about it
re: online dating
@rune Ah I didn't realize it was meant as a profile text rather than a message to a specific person, hm.
re: online dating
@joepie91 Well, I guess I might try it with one person I was talking to the other day, but it's only been like a day and a half so it's not even bad yet
re: online dating
@joepie91 well, I wish it was just slow to respond, but I am basically auto ghosted by a few women who just don't reply to the first message.
I get it, the ratios are messed up, so I just gotta find the generic enough way to convey that on my profile description. Maybe make it funny.
