meta (both), stux, mstdn.social
Actually, you know what, fuck the subtoots. I'm growing extremely tired of stux, of mstdn.social fame. This is far from the first time that they're being dangerously naive about community management.
Apparently they're not willing to block FB, because they want to "give them a chance" (after how many years of widespread abuses and zero consequences?)... which is already pretty sketchy, and the rationale ("they say they want to join, not take over") is incredibly naive.
But worse than that, they've now defederated mastodon.art. Why? Not because of long-standing moderation issues... but because they don't like the call-outs of problematic servers, and the organizing against FB/Meta.
Like, go fuck yourself and your pseudo-centrist bullshit, dude. You are actively part of the problem.

@joepie91 let me rephrase to understand: people support the decision. they come from instances which has bigotry.
correct?
re: meta (both), stux, mstdn.social
@jacksonchen666 Yep
re: meta (both), stux, mstdn.social
@joepie91 It's actually kind of funny how the immediate reaction was a lot of their own users upset that the server was de-federated on like 2 minutes notice.
.art could undo their suspension right now with no side effects, but mstdn.social already harmed their own users because they just threw a fit
re: meta (both), stux, mstdn.social
@rune Of course, because stux doesn't understand a fucking thing about how community management works, and absolutely should not be in charge of one

@joepie91 Stux sucks!
meta (both), stux, mstdn.social
@joepie91 oh that's that person who steals memes? great
re: meta (both), stux, mstdn.social
Oh and I"m sure that they're also not going to notice that all the users cheering on their defed decision, originate from instances that have been widely blocked for originating bigotry
Because you know, why *would* you pay attention to such a thing, it's not like they've done so before
