It's actually very weird how "software architecture resembles the org chart of the organization it was produced in" is pretty widely accepted and joked about, but "software resembles the bias and ethical values of its creators" is somehow controversial

@joepie91 on a similar note, I am always surprised how controversial this topic is in machine learning. Every time you mention that some model is inherently sexist / racist, because it was based on biased data, you get stormed by techbros who won't stop talking about "Computer can't be bigoted, it's a machine"

@joepie91 because it's easy to go "haha look at big corp software" and much more confronting to consider how your own biases influence your own actions
