@thufie Dunno about environmental, but I /certainly/ don't want Cloudflare knowing every time we visit a page they have JS on.

(Also their MITM-as-a-service. Like how did people agree to THAT.)

@IceWolf @thufie A combination of marketing, convenience, and free shit, basically - Cloudflare is very good at presenting themselves as "keeping the internet safe", even convincing a lot of techies, and so warning people of the MITM mostly resulted in "ehhh I'm sure they have no ill intentions" responses

@IceWolf @thufie Oh yeah and it probably helped that they literally just hired most of the people who might've been publicly critics of them, at one point a truly staggering amount of activist-y people I knew were employed by Cloudflare, and of course didn't want to hear anything about the sketchiness of the company
