I wrote this code at the very end of a too long coding session and uhh, it shows

can't believe the ufoi is doing us the favour of collating themselves into a nicely organised blocklist

qoto, bad instance

@researchfairy I wonder how anyone still federates with qoto. Between the block evasion scandal, the "freeze peach" commitment, the extremely suspicious exceptions in their rules, proudly saying they don't block any instances...

And now talking about how bad it is when others defederate. Like, is there anyone that can't see this is a server with extremely low standards, that is constantly being blocked by a lot of people?

For fuck's sake, just the name. "Question others to teach ourselves", it is clearly an instance _focused_ on sealioning.

heh I guess Borg works well, ZFS isn't able to compress those repos more at all

raspberry pi social media team having a normal one

im here to have fun and do Business(tm), and im all out of fun

Ha I forgot about the "Account Subscriptions" that qoto offers for "not circumventing privacy settings" but "follow[ing] a remote accounts [sic] public toots in your Home timeline without actually following them"

:yikes:

i miss when software was more brittle & worse for everyone because it considered fewer edge cases but it was great because everything happened maybe 5 to 10 milliseconds faster

jokes aside, the fact that these knobheads get so mad about defederation kinda suggests to me that defederation works quite well to isolate and disempower them, so that's nice

Okay, but seriously

The idea that moderation should happen in the manner they suggest

1. If you *wanted* to make it impossible to defederate from a bad instance quickly, and you wanted to give them a chance to continue to abuse users, this is how to do it

2. Mandatory public receipts is a terrible idea if you care about user safety at all and will be weaponized

3. Voting about whether a thing is racist/sexist/homophobic aka having constant referenda about the value of these groups :yikes:

adhd developers will literally implement the cool novel way of copying remote emoji before implementing a simple list/search interface

surprisingly complex to deal with (indeterminate) checkbox groups!

(also sneak peek at an upcoming feature :D)

@ljwrites I hope so. And hopefully there's more & more white folks who get it and can help by putting the status quosaders back in their box.
