nice, joining the Babel slack and typing out my problem was enough of a rubber ducky to figure out my issue without having to send the message

Show thread

send help im considering writing a babel plugin for super cursed code hacking

hmm the GitLens Search & Compare doesn't fix this completely but it is quite a nice way to (selectively) pull in changes

but I feel that's definitely an abstraction the editor could do for me, instead of having to litter my filesystem with different folders and changes

I wish vscode (or any editor) had better support for comparing two git branches while browsing both

like currently I'll copy the folder so both can be checked out to a different branch (or upstream)

you would not believe your eyes if ten million types of guys

oh tbf it is doing a taxing ncdu on the hdd partition rn

fucking hell the old pixie.town server is *slow*
2 ssd's in RAID1 but only about 60MB/s persisted write, networked storage between my Hetzner vps'es is faster lol

saw a really nice desk for free but it's almost deeper than my current desk is wide... so no way it'd fit here

wtf something moved on my desk and it really really sounded like the mastodon bloop (I have sound muted on mastodon everywhere so it wasn't real)

there we go `Removed 160999 media attachments (approx. 90.9 GB)` (anything older than 80 days)

still leaves 100GB though

🏳️‍⚧️ is such a huge country all the residents still have a hard time visiting each other

people complain about systemd featurecreep etc but i now actively use the init/unit system, networking and mount parts of it and it's actually nice

Nuremberg: (21 GB, 20 GiB) copied, 242.39 s, 86.5 MB/s

Helsinki: (21 GB, 20 GiB) copied, 361.757 s, 58.0 MB/s

Show thread

nice, sshfs mount of my Falkstein Hetzner Storage box gets 86 MB/s continuous write from Nuremberg, and 57 MB/s from Helsinki
(saturated network links, running both at the same time and speed did not change)
