pretty interesting that lain.haus, which hasn't actually hosted ActivityPub nor Matrix for like 3+ years now, still gets lookup requests kinda regularly
aaaaa the reason email sending wasn't working from my Gitea is because BuyVM blocks all outgoing 465 traffic by default, opened an issue...

yeahhhhh this is the other reason my site is on a Hetzner server. I'm nonbinary/trans, which means that fuckers on the internet sometimes want to take my website down because they don't get laid enough.
With hetzner I don't have to worry about being DDOSed to hell and back, but good god the SSH latency bites lol.
Took this tonight with my Canon 550D with a 28-300mm at 300mm, this is the best I could get (it's cropped a bit too).
Maybe one day I'll get a telescope + telescope adapter for dslr, that's how you get the really good moon shots

ok so this is the documentation I had issues with: https://docs.gitea.io/en-us/config-cheat-sheet/#session-session
I want it to reuse the database settings already set in the [database] section for session storage, which is postgres in my case.
So I set PROVIDER = postgres
and assume that setting PROVIDER_CONFIG empty will cause that to reuse my config.... but instead you have to set PROVIDER = db to make it reuse
love how gitea without a mailer set up will mark all emails as activated automatically, instead of leaving them unactivated and just not *checking* for that....
because now there's no way to make existing users actually confirm their email....
