Made a ‘good first issue’ on Github for disabling the markdown fraction parsing in GoToSocial: https://github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/issues/1028

If anyone wants to spend an hour or so tweaking that and writing some tests, that would be very cool ;)

Hey #introduction , my name is Denman Rooke, I'm an illustrator, art director, and concept artist working in games. I've been working professionally since 2007 and live in Galway, Ireland.

It's great when people who are sick test for #SARSCoV2. But when they tell you not to worry because they tested negative: I don't want that other virus either!!! If you are sick with a respiratory illness: Stay at home & get some rest (for you and for others)

Because a few people have tried this already:

Please DO NOT try to replace another fedi instance with a GoToSocial deployment on the same domain, with the same username. This will almost certainly cause issues with federation due to public/private keys changing, and it is not something we support.

In the future, we’ll try to provide a proper migration path between GtS and other fedi servers. But in the meantime we recommend deploying GtS at a subdomain that hasn’t been in use yet, like fedi.[example.org] or social.[example.org].

Your enthusiasm about GtS is appreciated! But if you try to drop-in GtS in place of a preexisting fedi server, and things break, we will not be able to help you with them.
