this song has a beautiful end with lots of minecraft sounds (starting at 4:20), but all the hit sounds stress me out every time from years of (afk) minecrafting and having to react to it :")

@pastelpunkbandit yeah imagine they put more people on that, and spent the other hardware effort on just making a few products actually better

ah shit i thought up a really really good domain name weeks ago and it's still available

@saturn pine64 consists (almost) solely of hardware devs, and they keep churning out lots and lots of (buggy) hardware, while leaving actual software support to make it usable to "the community". So in practice none of it really works well, and they just release new stuff instead of fixing the existing products

pine64 is working on creating more e-waste, without any software support, woo, yay!

i'm gonna play image caption bot for a second because uhhh librepunk media still borked

Talked to a lady who works for the tax authority yesterday. Based on her job experience, her take on the welfare state is something like this:
"Of course there will always be freeloaders. So what?! This is about dignity. Everyone has a right to a good life and to be supported when they're struggling. If you want that, you've got to live with the freeloaders. Leave them be. That's the price you pay for a society where everyone is taken care of. It's not like they're doing any damage in the big picture - I've run those numbers more than once. You'll always get more out of it for society at large when you're incentivising good performance than when you're punishing people."

@charlotte whats up GAMERS!! the true gender neutral stream opener

cosmos memory upgrade definitely helped oof

(graph showing near 100% memory usage with lots of gaps because the server couldn't even transmit stats, then a gap as the server rebooted, and memory slowly rising to a much more manageable 77% usage)

If you enjoy the show Leverage and wanted to have more like it but maybe painted onto thinly sliced trees or, contrarywise, want an experience for your ears only, then I have a book recommendation for you!

Going Postal by Terry Pratchett is about a con artist who gets roped (quite literally) into saving the Post Office. It's got scams, gender theory, golem liberation, extremely funny moments and a group of pre-industrial-revolution internet hackers!

(De Nederlandse vertaling door Venugopalan Ittekot is trouwens ook fantastisch, doet niet onder voor het origineel!)
