in a pinch, using the Windows ssd in a USB enclosure, with my thinkpad, actually worked surprisingly well, actually got some schematic work done today
half the parts are arriving in the morning.. other half in the (late) afternoon..
ordered, with 3x8Gb in the end (same as I have now)
biggest downside is I'd probably go down to 16gb ddr4 to save on costs a bit, with an upgrade later
memtesting was very fucky, and new motherboards for this cpu seem difficult to source too...
i have a decent upgrade list thanks to @erikk@chaos.social so might just go for that in the end
poked myself in the eye oof auwie
@stapper messed up ram it seems, from memtesting in various configurations
wtf, all ram back, gpu back, original psu... goes to bios just fine
@morgan@cathode.church idk, yesterday I just hibernated my desktop like usual, then when trying to turn it on again nothing happened
tried with the PSU from my server, identical boot failure... so motherboard and/or cpu are toast
