@erikk@chaos.social hm I hadn't realised there's a worker for that too, but workers are quite limited, basically just splitting the process over more cpu threads.
my synapse-media-proxy will be a successor to the current Nginx caching I have for my media requests, by making both upload and download requests go to the fast vps, which then slowly syncs them back to synapse for long term storage. This should hugely speed up access of recent uploads, right from the first request, while currently that only works after one request fully finished and it's in the nginx cache + uploads can be quite slow too

ok finally done with uni for today, time to write more synapse-media-proxy

@gotosocial_test_account hm interesting detail that the highlight uses the wrong domain name (should be just @pixie.town) (still works tho)

Testing again, should be working now. Can you put a like/fave on this? Thanks friends

Testing my dopamine receptors, can you put a like/fave on this? Thanks friends

Course im writing for is called Business, Culture and Techno (logy), so some hard Voiski beats on and lets go

just had the weirdest experience where the cat meowed and I turned on my headphones (away from my head) and for a split second I thought the cat meowed 'power on'

@GI_Jack@hackers.town good explanation but as a side note, if your channel has any users connecting via Matrix (quite likely), Libera will most likely get a bridge again soon, while there is no such hope with hackint as they explicitly disallow it.
Or you can go the NixOS/Fedora/others? route and just go to Matrix entirely :p
