my glasses broke almost two months ago, i taped them but they're still super crooked, and uncomfortable to wear. But apparently not bad enough to actually take action in replacing them haha

think this could be a good time to start trying contacts though, i like how my face looks without glasses, and would also prevent fogging with masks

@anarchiv but isopropyl alcohol is great for cleaning solder flux residue!

the best thing about all these online meetings is definitely people's cats

@grufwub@notbird.site but like, the dm right before it did parse it as 420h0m0s properly, does it drop the hours or smth?

@grufwub@notbird.site hmm it reminded me like, instantly ahah :)

@grufwub@notbird.site @FediReminder@notbird.site remind me: 420h

@goat@hellsite.site
my understanding is that it merges what instance A had from old instance B with new instance B on the same domain (which is bad)

but all the content from old instance B that was still on instance A was accessible *this whole time still*, because it gets cached. so no new data is made availble with revival, you just get merges with new content

meta meta

I wonder how many people filter 'meta'

about deletion and GDPR, i guess meta

also the "you can't delete user's data because GDPR" seems really sketch? like how on earth could I be forced to store everything from my users indefinitely?

but the legalese is unparsable for me so

@goat@hellsite.site right yeah that's what I thought, i hope this clarification gets boosted enough, because i've seen people talk about buying old domains to prevent leaking DMs, which would not really be possible either way. (The impersonation vector is still an issue though)

@grufwub@notbird.site @FediReminder@notbird.site remind me: 420 years

@souvlaki Little miss hooves and horns has been dabbling in necromancy and has brought back bofa.lol

@goat@hellsite.site also how the fuck does mastodon not use keys to prevent domain takeovers from continuing history wtf
