@calcifer basically drop-in yeah, they work great with fastled too. There's a minor technical difference in timing but not something you actually notice with normal use https://cpldcpu.wordpress.com/2016/12/13/sk9822-a-clone-of-the-apa102/
of course the linux driver is the only release 3 months behind
also because having a more finished poster is definitely more important than getting it printed I think, worst case I can slice it into A4/A3 sheets and tape them together as A1
