I was going to spend today cleaning but I'm so sleepy zz
Can you imagine how much legislation we would not need if software engineering had an enforceable duty to users?
I think a lot of people miss that professional responsibility is not only about limiting you, it gives you the power to say no in unethical situations to the people who would make a lot of money off of the unethical choice.
Can you imagine how different the current software infrastructure would be if everyone writing code had the ability to say no, we can't do that it would harm users and no one in my profession can do that and not risk their career?
It's 2023, the corporations have had their chance. Time to cancel your streaming subscriptions, return to piracy, and use the money to patronise your favourite artists instead.
Got some not-so-great news this week, which may eventually lead to better news.
The bad news: my vision loss has been caused by untreated MS, which I've probably had since my 20s.
The good news: now I know, I can get treatment, and I MAY get some vision back. Which would mean I could draw again.
