I'm gonna start straight up blocking folks I see posting un-CW'd US doom politics all the time.
I get that shit is fucked over there (everywhere, really, we live in fucky times), but repeatedly posting takes about democrats vs republicans, Trump, US fascists, riling folks up to obtain guns... what does that really accomplish? Aside from making folks even more anxious, sad, and angry? Fuck all, I'd say.
On a more personal level, I just can't hack absorbing even more abstracted + formless anxiety and sadness than I already have about shit I actually have a say in. It's not good for me. If it helps people to post through it, fine, good for them (though I feel like it's less about venting and more about generating 'engagement'), but that doesn't mean I gotta see it too.
In the US, you have to be vigilant about hate.
Not paying attention to what you are reading, watching, and consuming will have you hating people you don't even know and voting for people that make careers from exploiting that ignorance.

Audio tech troubleshooting, opinions welcome 
So I have an old E-mu Proteus 2 rackmount synth that I got off Kijiji, but since plugging it in after my move, I discovered the audio output is frequently dropping out, most audible on sustained samples.
I'm suspecting the DAC's capacitors are toast, since I don't notice any sort of sign of power fluctuation (the LED panel stays lit for example) or data issue (the MIDI input light flashes in time with all events logged) but I know a few people I follow are tech heads too so can anyone weigh in with a second opinion?
Now is a good time to study up on the actual history of the Luddites because the ChatGPT maximalists are going to use all the same propaganda and playbooks that their industrialist forebearers used to oppress all of us who care more about people than about programs and profits.
