Friends, let me tell you about the Giant Palouse Earthworm, because this deserves its own thread.

The Palouse prairie ran from southeastern WA into Idaho, and it’s nearly gone, super endangered, not even 1% remains. It was all plowed under for wheat and lentils more than a century ago. But there are programs now to replant retired ag fields with native vegetation, which is great!
