Benefits of CWs:
-avoid things that trigger me
-mentally categorize what appears online and approach it more conscientiously
-good format for silly jokes
-think about what I'm saying and how it will affect people before I actually publish it to the internet

Drawbacks of CWs:

I don't wanna do things today

I just wanna admire lämp together with my babies

I know I've gotten mad about the lack of people paying attention to the murders of trans people on the Fediverse, and I'll likely do it again.

But I am also thinking about how. Eleven trans people, mostly women and femmes, and mostly Black, have died between Juneteeth and now.

And at this point if you asked me to tell you their names, I'd still have to look them up.

Because there is so much death this year.

But that doesn't mean their lives shouldn't be remembered.

I think I'm just going to start posting unlisted by default and tuning out the fediverse again. It's a larger community I have no place in.

PSA: The official/traditional/common way to write å, when you don't have access to å on your keyboard is "aa".

So it's either blåhaj or blaahaj.

Never blahaj.

FYI, if you like chocolate and don't like slavery, there are a bunch of companies committed to improving the whole industry to make it more transparent and get rid of exploitation. And I can almost guarantee the chocolate they produce will taste better too.

I just found a list and it's now on my tumblr, if you'd like to know more:

(And, as @zatnosk rightly points out, the GDPR (in Article 6 § 1(f)) allows you to delete personally-identifying information if it's in your legitimate interest to do so!)

No, #mastoadmin crew, suspending an account does not violate the GDPR, no matter what bad-faith actors might tell you. The GDPR relates specifically to data that can uniquely identify a natural person in the physical world. The only data Mastodon collects that falls under that purview is email address and a combination of latest IP address and latest connection time - and suspending an account doesn't remove that information from the database, although you can do it manually.

meds

I was going to say how I felt like it was inevitable, but considering the broad range of treatments it's used for, if anything I'm wondering why I wasn't on it sooner
