Hi all, I've supported a lot of friends, and never figured it'd be me having to reach back out for help.

A few weeks ago I finally graduated with my Bachelor's, a journey over a decade in the making. For much of the summer, I've been looking for jobs to try to make the transition smooth. Here we are nearing the end of August though.

Out of everything, this week finally yielded a strong lead and a really fantastic first couple rounds of interviews that I'm optimistic will lead an offer following an in-person interview early next week. I couldn't be more excited.

Unfortunately, this means that even in the best scenario, my partner and I will be pushing past empty for the beginning of September, and I could use a little help getting through this first part of the month. For what we're short, this is our mortgage and car payment, both of which are vital that we continue to maintain. My goal is $500.

i want it to become an alternative since there’s very little places on fedi that seem to cater to dutch speakers (native or not), and the options available at hand are too.. generalist so to say

we just happened to become a thing today, so we want to federate with fedi and crashtest this thing.

Hey, you know what's really cool?

I can come to this place every other day, and I can see the coolest people doing the coolest stuff. I see people taking trains or bikes or bicycles to work, or to get around, and being super enthused about it. I see people making crazy good works of art or games or programs in so many media, or talking about music, or posting pictures of things they like, or sharing memes. Writing awesome code. Streaming videos about things that make them happy. Maintaining servers to make all of this possible for the rest of us.

There are so many people here who are truly inspirational. People I look up to, who have the passion and perseverance to do things I could never even begin to dream of, and make it look easy.

And my thought on that is that people are actually pretty cool. And I am inspired. I want to get out of my own negativity cycles, and be inspired. I want to be here for the good things in life. And I just want to say...
