I make a lot of use of timed mutes. It's a great feature and you should use it too.
Sometimes there's this pattern where I keep re-muting people and it would be nice if mastodon would show me some statistics on how long I've been doing that for because like eventually you gotta ask yourself if this is just something they're going through in the moment or if that's just, like, who they are now and maybe it's time to part ways.

for those inquiring about the DEC sticker, good news: i finally got off my ass and put it on redbubble and You Can Buy It
Bumblebee says howdy
I love it when they stick one of their legs straight out like this. Reminds me of so many things: riding a mechanical bull with one arm in the air, a ballerina stretching a leg straight up, a very friendly wave hello.

tl;dr someone posted a giant "FREE" sign in front of a furniture warehouse here in NW portland
so people from the neighborhood came in and took stuff--it was free, after all!
turns out some random person slapped the sign up, though, not the owner of the stuff, and now the police don't know what to do 😂
Learned about a really neat font that's designed for Dyslexic readers.
Unlike more traditional dyslexic fonts like OpenDyslexic or Comic Sans, this one was designed to be legible for dyslexics **and** compatible for professional design contexts.
It also has multiple character variants and 6(!!!) variable axes to enable people to fine tune the ways that letter forms can be distinguished from each other.

It's quickly becoming apparent that this is a two-for-one OC package with how hardcore her mom is becoming as I think about her backstory
I have been sending out this resource all year, but I'll send it out again. From the US Department of Energy:
Creating a Cool Room for Extreme Heat Events
"Given the reality of global climate change and the increasing likelihood of extreme heat events, designing and retrofitting homes for resistance to extreme heat and power outages should be considered in all climates. Extending the "hours of safety" that a home can provide when air-conditioning is not available can be life-saving...."
