There is an app, called Eclipse Soundscapes, which exists to make eclipses more accessible for people who are blind or visually impaired.

It's available on iOS and Android, and has a citizen science component as well for those who are interested in participating in some data (as in science, not as in Big) collection.

The people behind it are good people, and the more engagement they get, the more funding they get for their mission of making science more accessible for everyone.

There's plenty of information in the app for sighted folks as well, as well as a built in synth, so if it's the kind of thing you're interested in, check it out!

A question for maker types out there: Any thoughts on Cricut vs Silhouette vs similar style cutter devices? I’ve heard the Cricut software is locked in and… bad; but the actual hardware device seems to be generally better reviewed than the competitors. What says the hive mind?
