Reading @Zennistrad's most recent crossover fic suddenly makes me wanna replay the Cruel King and the Great Hero again... even though it has nothing to do with the story being shown here.
Just that it's an RPG about a human living among monsters, a sparing mechanic, and a painful twist and betrayal that makes the game hit a lot harder after the halfway point.
Nothing at all besides that.
I really wish I could teach gamers that they THINK they want a huge open world but what they REALLY want is a well designed AREA of a city, culture, and NPCs.
Open worlds with 100 empty streets and 100 acres of empty hills to run fetch quests will never compare.
Google's new HIGHLY INVASIVE ad monitoring and selling framework is now live in Chrome and it defaults to ON so you MUST ACTIVELY OPT OUT.
We all know this is bad, but here's how to do it:

Fun fact: the Famicom Disk System has a Y2024 problem!
The FDS stores the disk's manufacturing/rewrite date using a binary-coded decimal year in the Shōwa era (so 1926 is year $01, 1927 is year $02, 1935 is year $10, and so on).
This means that the last year which can be expressed in this system is 2024 - Shōwa 99; which is still out of bounds for the era itself, but acceptable by the Nintendo header standard.

You know, even in D&D it's really not often that your character sacrifices her life to repair an artifact staff, becomes bound to it as an intelligence with an illusory projection, and then uses its powers over time to essentially put herself through college in an instant (but still live through several years herself) in order to craft a new spell
Since I've seen a lot of chatter about people switching to #Firefox as Google ramps up the enshitification of #Chrome, let me tell you about a killer feature for people who (a) need multiple accounts on the same websites (eg. devs) or specifically (b) have to use multiple Google accounts.
Firefox has an official addon called Multi Account Containers that lets you trivially set up color coded tabs that have separate sets of cookies. Log into your dev account in one, and your test account in another. Log into your personal #gmail in one and have another tab next to it with your work Gmail. I'm actually not signed in to any Google accounts in most my tabs, I just have containers for the specific tasks I do on Google products.
It'll take you 30 seconds to set up.
