I really should see what gamedevs and artists I used to follow years ago did the twitter migration. Could be interesting

Legal fund for Alex Norris, creator of Webcomic Name (the 'oh no' comics)

A publishing company they partnered to make a board game with a few years ago has used the opportunity to take all of their intellectual property/claimed ownership of Webcomic Name as a whole :/
From what I read, seems like its not the first time this publishing company have done that either.

okay more new user tips

content warnings are extremely important here

they're ingrained in our culture

they're not censorship, but rather consent

they allow someone to decide if they wanna engage with your post, and if so on what terms

they're a courtesy, and you have legiterally no reason to not use them as much as possible

they're one of the best features mastodon has

think of it like a subject line or a title for your post

you're MORE LIKELY to get "engagement" if you use them right

I am not a very good photographer but I am pleased about this picture of tiny #funghi on a mossy treetrunk.

#mushrooms

#fungus and more fungus I don't know if anybody has tried the velvet cap #bolete but they are amazing! a delicate hint of lemon, they are by far one of my favorite #edible #mushrooms. #birdsnestfungus is just cool. i need to go out next fall with my new camera and macro lens and do this again

I have my laptop up and running, a little whining in the right ears and a friend to the rescue. i will try not to go to overboard *grins*

#Cats Protection have identified a kitten of 'neither sex' in Tyneside. :blobcat_heart_trans::blobcatenby:

I feel like some sections of the #nonbinary communities will find this highly important. As I have. I wonder how many potential adopters have been #enby since this was release. I, for one, want to give this baby a #fureverhome as my little #agender heart squeaks in joy. :blobcathugblahaj:

It just occurred to me why Mastodon works so well for social media in the public square.

It's nothing technical. It's moderation. And the incentives of the moderators.

Community moderators keep out the kinds of people that their communities don't want around.

Professional moderators keep out the kinds of people their employers (usually advertisers) don't want around.

That difference is ✨Enormous✨ !

So everyone go hug your instance moderators today. 🤗

Hi! I've been here for a while, but things really took off last few days Time for my #introduction.

I'm Ellen, 35 years, and i spend most of my available time either making NES displayable graphics, music & games, or the tools to make them in, or socializing in communities dedicated to the same things.

One game that's out is called Project Blue. It's a neat flick-screen platformer. Two more are actively in development.

Hi y'all! I'm gonna try to post one or two of my art pieces here once in a while. :)
Here's the cover for Celeste! 🍓

kinda sad to hear such resistance to the idea of using CWs liberally and considerately.

I hope our fedi communities continue to encourage ourselves to have a different culture from Big Corporate Social Media, where we actually act like communities of people who take care of each other as human beings, rather than resources to vomit your opinions at for fame.

The migration from Twitter to Mastodon is a blueprint for what I hope to see in regards to parallel institutions.

Namely, capitalist structures & billionaire overlords over-colonize so much that they cannibalize themselves & the things they own, compelling people to look for alternatives.

But alternatives like this were here, ready to catch people as they happens.

Same can be true for mutual aid systems, tool libraries, community distribution networks etc, as dominant systems further crumble.

Forgive the overdue #introduction, but howdy! I'm Dominic Armato, and two things are kind of my jam.

The first is that I've done #voiceover since I was a kid, and I'm the voice of Guybrush Threepwood in the #MonkeyIsland games.

The second is that I'm way more into #food and #restaurants than anybody probably should be, and I was the dining critic for The Arizona Republic for five years. (Woo #journalism)

I balied on FB, I want to bail on Twitter, and I'm hoping this is where I belong. TBD.
