@sharkNserg I mean it was a reasonably solid metroidvania, I just had absolutely 0 emotional connection to it so it was all mechanical to me

@sharkNserg You should've seen me when someone told me to play Kurovadis (which has strong non-con elements, I must warn) >_>; There's a key on it that knocks the character down automatically (which leads to rather mature scenes in contact with an enemy) and the only time I ever used it was to gain iframes to cheese a room full of spikes

@sharkNserg Yeah, and I can't imagine you'd want to see me just breaking the game down to its mechanical elements and playing towards whatever end goal appears ideal in that sense, so I think I should pass on this one

@sharkNserg Well, that does inform my opinion a little more, though I still feel like I wouldn't be able to connect with a male character at all if I'm supposed to be projecting onto him in any way

@sharkNserg That's honestly part of the problem. The character is effectively a blank slate to project onto, but he's (initially?) male and the potential for intimate cutscenes referencing that heavily would probably cause my dysphoria to spike hard

@sharkNserg I took a look at it the other day, but the synopsis reads like there's too much separating me from the character, which would probably result in a much less entertaining or sympathetic experience as other folks on here seem to have :\ so idk

Okay, whatever's going on between alsa and my sound mixer is making Discord freeze up trying to capture input from it when I set up an asound conf to capture from that mixer, so I'll have to do an analogue passthrough to my integrated audio after all, I guess.

Still beats trying to work with Pulseaudio though
