I am 10,000% on board with the idea of a European social media system (actually was looking into someone might make this), but this doesn't sound great, and continues the trend of native European products having just... the fucking worst brand names.

@samsantala I've heard mention of this and it does seem to have forgotten that a lot of fediverse software existed and was made in the EU before it too

@elfi I think the problem with the fediverse is that by it's own nature it is somewhat disjointed and clunky, with moderation not being consistent or centralized. Unfortunately I think places like this have a hard limit on their user uptake.

@samsantala oh yeah, as much as website boy wants to play in the big leagues, he's the biggest source of those issues. Still, it feels disingenuous for this W to claim nothing came before
