FFXIV Endwalker, first dungeon
I've guided several people through the start of Endwalker. Some people want very surface-level gloss on what to do in instances. Not full on explainers just "When you see X do Y". I feel I can do that pretty well and I really enjoy seeing how people react to Endwalker specifically.
One of my favorite moments is the last boss of the first dungeon, which has an attack pattern I've taken to calling out as "Okay good luck!" and watching the newbie completely explode because there's no way I was gonna be able to explain that in time anyway.
They took away Westwind, okay? I gotta just completely take the piss somewhere!
That's the moment I realized Endwalker's difficulty design was Different.

@trysdyn Wait, they took away Westwind?! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
FFXIV
@trysdyn @vapor They could've ilvl synced it like the early ARR postgame dungeons or something... either way, that's sad. So many fun injokes the new players will never understand ;;
Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked messing with new players by giving the cliffnotes on the "mechanics" before each Cape Westwind fight
FFXIV
@elfi @trysdyn Aye, one of the best things was the friendly trolling and hyping up Westwind as the hardest trial at 50; from all I've heard, the entire thing is far better for plot than making the poor roggy a joke of a trial fight, but it's one of those things the old players can no longer really share with those just getting in.
...
... still plenty of "Pray Return to the Waking Sands" though, from all I understand.
