@s_ol have you looked into analog switches for x33? i used a hardware synth recently and i'm now a sucker for analog inputs. i have a full-size 88key keyboard next to me and the dynamics make a huge difference i think
@ckie
yeah it's totally a thing that I've been wondering-worrying about since day one essentially :D
For this version it's too much for me to handle. In the future maybe there could be a version with Wooting hall-effect switches, but it needs a whole different sensing architecture AND new keycaps (because different stem); or just a full custom mechanical design which is also a big issue.
@ckie
There's also some info on using inductive sensing with stock switches, but that's expensive and probably incompatible with RGB lighting (need space for a coil all around the switch, and the LEDs PWM might interfere with the reading)
@s_ol ooh, this is getting my brain running! many thanks!
@ckie
There are some products out there that function as "MIDI Expression Controllers" that basically adds that to any keyboard; with the i2c interface on the 0x33.board it would also be trivial to tie something like the 16n in as velocity and pitch bend control.
