@ckie yeah uh. I’m not going to set up nix on windows sorry. Or probably any os.

@zkat lol the nix evangelists have logged on

@darius I mean all the more power to them. They’re just unhelpful replies.

@zkat @darius
am tired and have been debugging a stupid thing for hours but tldr i'm not an evangelist, @joepie91 explains this well in https://social.pixie.town/@joepie91/108443089028109028
@darius i think it usually comes from like a "automatic respect" type thing, which i don't think was the case here but i don't give a fuck about automatic respect so if whoever i'm talking to gets upset because i'm undermining their independence or whatever i am yoting myself the fuck out of there
though when it's just "this thing is stupid, here, see the stupid" it's okay in that regard, though these kind of posts are also kind of bad since they just show "i don't care enough about this to dig in and find a proper solution/major blocker so i'm just gonna complain"
and both of these vary based on where you are, hence why i am going to go back to my little part of fedi (maybe)
@ckie I get that instinct. For what it's worth I used to do this a lot myself, before I learned the extent to which it was often not welcome.
