"thinkpad modded bios with wifi whitelist removed" is NOT a sentence I expected to read

@theking theres another one that unlocks even further config features and a warning to not fuck around lest ye find out

@lyncia @theking is that the middleton bios or something?
what model is it?
@lyncia @theking ahh i stopped one sooner than that, i think those have UEFI so it's harder to flash them or something
@lyncia @theking (that said, you got one with a good keyboard and eDP, which is very nice)
@lyncia @theking I'm typing on your exact keyboard right now (the T510 I've got here uses the same part number); I agree. You got the last one that had a good keyboard.
I slightly prefer the slightly earlier ones ones with the smaller delete and escape keys but it hardly makes a difference most of the time. And the feel of the X220's is a bit superior to the X201's I think.
T510 is my "meh" thinkpad that i just use because the others don't have good batteries at the moment, but the keyboard in it is good.

@wyatt@soc.megatokyo.moe @lyncia@social.pixie.town my t400 keyboard is decent, I'm not the biggest fan of the modern chicklet ones

I had an Acer aspire one netbook from like 2009 and the keyboard was actually phenomenal lol

@theking @lyncia 90s thinkpads had the best feel of all.
the T400 uses a similar board to the one in my X201, I feel the same way. Just decent.
Although the manufacturer does matter; the NMB/Nimebea made boards feel better than the ones Chicony made. They have different FRU's but are interchangeable.
