I wonder if there's a set of MAGA tech bros out there somewhere who genuinely believe that IPv6 is just another un-American effort to challenge the US dominance in IPv4, and should therefore be resisted at every opportunity.
Would be one explanation for why the rollout is so damn slow, and totally fit in with the level of lobbying US ISPs are doing against municipal broadband and whatnot 🤪
@sindarina Honestly I think the explanation for that is a lot simpler: the reluctant parties are primarily those who have lots of IPv4 addresses, and who are probably well-aware that that hoard is only worth a significant pile of money as long as people need them, ie. as long as IPv6 cannot be assumed to be present. They have a direct financial interest in being slow about IPv6.
