grs question
i'm like back in that hole* with like "people say it doesn't look anything like a natural one" or "it has medical issues a lot" or "it's really gross and high-maintenance and it's not going to be anything like a cis person's junk" and it'd actually be cool if someone who's knowledgeable could tell me how much/little i should be worrying about this stuff these days
grs question
@Kat I'm happy to chat about this stuff anytime. I know I'm lucky to have gotten one covered by insurance so I try to pay it forward in being a resource.
I've had several partners and non-partners who have plenty of experience with cis vaginas that say that visually they wouldn't be able to identify mine as a neovulva unless they were extremely familiar with the faint scar marks I have.
grs question
@AzureHusky mostly I’m wondering if it’s like safe to go to most decent surgeons or if there’s like 1-2 out there who do it well and everyone else does it shitty or something, people always tell me like “this doctor does it really well” and I don’t recognize any names at all haha
grs question
@Kat you can try going to transbucket.com and looking at people's results and reviews. But yeah it's also just talking to other people who have had it done and figuring out doctor based on that. I'm happy to tell you my experiences with GRS Montreal and Dr Brassard: I'm happy with the outcome but can prepare you for some of the kinda ehhhh parts of the process too if you go to him
grs question
@AzureHusky @Kat I'm lined up for surgery with Dr. Brassard once I get some documentation squared away, and I would love to hear this too if possible
grs question
@elfi @Kat absolutely. Feel free to hit me up with questions. The main thing to know is that GRS Montreal does a beautiful and attentive job and also absolutely sucks at communication when you're not there. So just, like, if it feels like they're giving you the cold shoulder they aren't, they're just really busy and need like ten more nurses to handle communication
grs question
@AzureHusky @Kat spoiler alert: I don't have sleep apnea, just insomnia, which is a surprise to nobody ever considering I'm talking about this at a quarter after 1 my time when I've been in bed for over an hour
