The Nintendo Wii was a multiseat desktop environment featuring an exclusive fullscreen setup. Years ahead of modern desktop computing. Why can't I have 4 little colorful mouse pointers and fight over the UI with my friends?
@thufie oh wait no that’s multiple X sessions on the same computer, not one shared session
@thufie shoutout to Amiga, which, IIRC could do this back in like 1751 or whatever.
@thufie I recently saw the original mouse presentation, from when they were invented, and that mentioned multiple mouse pointers.
They had the idea that several people would connect into this computer, collaborate together live on a document in the 1970s
@thufie didn’t something like that use to be possible with X11 (though perhaps poorly supported)?
