You have no idea just how good KDE is until you have to use other software

Want to route all torrents through a VPN?

In ktorrent, there's a setting for that. Just enable it

In qbittorrent, the setting is hidden away under "advanced" settings in a huge unordered list, but at least it's there

Deluge doesn't have an option for that

This is like. The most important feature in a torrent client

A torrent client without the option to route all traffic exclusively through a VPN is basically like a browser without an adblocker

I was gonna deduct points from KDE because it often crashes instead of going into standby, but I just realized that Xfce does the same thing

@schratze does your KDE setup recover painlessly from crashes? I've had inconsistent experience. On some machines KDE can recover flawlessly and restore all the window positions, etc. But sometimes it fails so hard it boots me back to the login screen (kdm, usually).

@thufie the thing that happens to me regularly is the screen locks after inactivity and then sometimes the primary screen stays black with a stationary cursor. I can still log back in on the external screen and use it fine. But the primary one stays in that state unless I reset the whole computer

@schratze ah yeah the classic jank linux screen locker experience. Sometimes I get that with resuming from suspend when I have an external monitor connected.
