People idolize historical political and thinkers and religious teachers too much without thinking on their own. In general. There is plenty to glean from applying your own discerning neurons. You live in a unique view into the world now, as unique as any of them, and likely more relevant by being contemporary.
Basically: bestie. That particular quote is off the mark by a hundred yards, do some mental adjustment to the current landscape if you don't wanna shoot wide.
And I am not talking about cynicism disguised in an oversized jacket labelled "realism".
You don't have to go full egoist but at least accurately assess the unique value of your own applied perception whetted against new experiences and contemporary thought.
