linux packaging

System package dependencies which are brought in during an upgrade or installation transaction should feature a warning if they are above 4 GB in size and not explicitly marked for installation. I keep having weird domino effects of dependencies of dependencies which have huge disk space requirements, and feel entitled to 30-80GB of space in a weird /opt folder.
