Linux desktops should have multiseat desktop sessions which can be divided into subdesktop sessions, or collaboratively operated, should have happened already. Without the encumberance of personal licensing from Microsoft/Apple, computers should be useful to more people at once given how valuable they are!

This is technically possible, there is even an Arch wiki page, but for some reason it seems like a largely abandoned or forgotten technology?
