If you see a mastodon social account just hitting up randos for mutual aid, you know it’s a scam
I give regularly to mutual aid and boost a lot too, but I’m not supporting the scammers
Sometimes I feel guilty and there’s that moment of “what if this one’s real!?!” But then I check their toots again (they never contain any sense of a real person), then block & report.
