I did a very simple exercise to identify what this new age conspiracy guy time calculator does. It just multiplies the input by 1.618 (the Golden Ratio) and that's it.

@fries the corresponding video breaks it up into two steps arbitrarily, where x is the input:
y = x*0.618
return y+x;
Which is the unsimplified version of just multiplying by 1.618.
I think refusing to simplify your math to elongate it and try to imbue higher significance is common in this kind of thing, spiritualist future prediction shams and astrology.
