Open source """communities""" stop being ridiculously toxic and pretending to be anti-corporate while bootlicking corporations challenge (impossible)

"Uhhh ackhshually I have reasonable grounds to believe you pirated the game you're trying to run through Lutris so I won't help you with your issue, if you hadn't pirated it you wouldn't be manually installing it through an .exe" 💀

@hazelnot it is one thing to see [DODI Repack] or FitGirl Repack in a file path string sent in a bug report. This is a whole different level though, just assuming anything other than digital storefront download is illegitimate. That's ridiculous.

You know I still organize all my installed games in the same directory structure manually regardless of legality and I would piss this kind of person off so much.

@thufie I'm like 90% sure I interacted with this person in a similar situation on the RPCS3 Discord too

They're one of those assholes who try to bait people into revealing they pirated a game so they can get banned for breaking the no piracy rules

I assume those rules exist to cover the devs' asses, but some people just really want to lick corporate boot That Fucking Much

@tully @thufie Welp a moderator stepped in, sided with the asshole and thanked him for "thinning the herd" and how it was "like watching Darwin's law in action" so I left 🤷‍♀️

@tully @thufie didn't even need help after all anyway, I figured out the problem with my install script by myself

screaming

@tully @thufie lol yeah Linux bros actively don't want people they see as lesser to use the same software they use, they *like* how unpopular it is 🙃

screaming

@hazelnot @tully well they also revel in being unpopular people at a personal level too. Hence the weird amounts of personal pride in constantly alienating potential new users.

@tully @hazelnot @thufie fucking boot lickers i don't understand how someone could be for open source--the commons basically--and side with capitalists
