oh my god my cs professor is presenting his slides in emacs org mode

horrible US history fact:

The US used to forcibly sterilize the mentally disabled and ill as part of a eugenics program

and yes, the Nazis were inspired by it

and I don't think the US has ever truly reconciled it's past

instead, we just buried it, just like American businessmen links with Nazis

Receipt paper is carcinogenic.
Avoiding receipts by stealing everything.

hey siri where can i download the hottest doom wads

windows: can't mount more than 26 drives without using UNC paths or mounting to directories
linux: "yes uwu" is a valid command and constantly prints "uwu" to the terminal until the process is killed

the winner is clear

genitals, intersex, hypospadias, intactivism

I read an article yesterday that made me rethink my stance on operations to correct hypospadias in children and infants. intersexroadshow.blogspot.com/
Hypospadias correction operations are closer to forced gender reassignment of intersex children than I realized. One in 125 children assigned male at birth have operations performed to correct hypospadias. Many of these operations also require circumcision, the tissue of the foreskin is used to construct a urethra.
The author is an intersex professor, and he shows how much of the medical literature on hypospadias tries to erase the existence of intersex genitals with inaccurate diagrams, drawn to look more like a "normal" penis that has a misplaced urethra.

remaking "i am legend" but where i'm the only person left alive using GNU screen

Things I liked about 80's/90's computing:
- Total control over my hardware
- Software that worked with me, not against me
- Superior aesthetics (yeah I said it :3 )
- Overall sense of promise and freedom

Things I like about computing today:
- Easy and open access to knowledge
- Insane amounts of storage
- The sheer computing POWERRRR

Now if only we could make these attributes come together instead of being period exclusive. :blobthinking:
